EIA Technician

Where will you work: Onsite at our Black Point Ammonia Terminal – 3421 Port Sutton Road | Tampa, FL 33619 with occasional travel to our other Ammonia facilities, sulfur facilities, and distribution warehouses.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday four ten-hour days

We’re on the lookout for a skilled EIA Technician to join our team across four Florida Mosaic Port terminal locations. In this role, you’ll tackle a variety of tasks, from troubleshooting to installing a wide range of electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment. You’ll ensure everything from lighting to pneumatic systems is in top shape, all while adhering to safety standards like NFPA 70E and NEC. Your day-to-day will include performing inspections, providing valuable feedback on work orders, and staying proactive with our Computerized Maintenance Management System. Plus, you’ll be an active participant in our safety meetings and training events, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. What you’ll do:

  • Use hand tools, calibration and testing equipment to maintain, clean and repair various Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation systems at the facility.

  • Install & maintain motors, starters, drives, etc. on low-med voltage electrical systems.

  • Replace, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate and clean instrumentation systems.

  • Analyze and correct automation hardware & software issues to maintain site operations as needed.

  • Be vigilant of issues and conditions that could affect the health and wellbeing of themselves, their coworkers, and or the environment.

  • Report any issue that could impact the environment or the safety of any person.

  • Responsible for the housekeeping of all EIA tools, equipment and work areas.

  • Responsible for planned & scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.

  • Communicates daily with area supervisor who prioritizes, and delegates work to the technicians.

  • Follows verbal or written instructions from supervision and management then utilizes and inputs data into the CMMS (Maximo) system as required.

  • Respond to unplanned EIA maintenance emergencies as required by management.

  • Safely operate a Mosaic owned vehicle (pick-up) on Public and/or Company roads.

  • Support EIA maintenance requirements of the Florida distribution sites that are; Tampa Marine, Port Sutton, Big Bend, and Hookers Point.

  • Be fit tested and wear a respirator when required.

What’ you’ll need:

  • High school diploma/GED required

  • Associates Degree in Vocational, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation preferred

  • 4 years Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation or completion of an accredited Apprenticeship Program in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation Systems required

  • IBEW apprenticeship and Phosphate industry desired

  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming/software experience preferred

  • SAP S4 Hanna preferred

  • Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processes preferred

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) Planning & Scheduling preferred

  • Good organizational skills and ability to work alone, with a partner, or in a team setting

  • Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures

  • Hard copy and electronic data entry capable

  • Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity and safely working at heights

  • Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles

  • Complete Pre-Job Workplace Examinations

  • Responsible for the safe and compliant storage/inspection/usage of tools and equipment as assigned

  • Physical work environment is frequently outdoors and exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit
