The Director - Sales Risk Management is a leadership role with the objective of advancing the risk and controls framework withing Moody's Analytics Sales. In this highly visible role, you will partner with senior business management and Moody's corporate audit, risk, and control leaders to mature the risk culture in our group. This role plays a pivotal role in overseeing the coordination, execution, and reporting of key risk initiatives across Moody's Analytics Sales to ensure senior leadership has the insights needed to navigate an evolving risk landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management and Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain effective risk management practices tailored to the needs of the Sales department.
  • Develop and sustain an effective internal controls environment to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with Moody's Corporation IT, Information Security, and Internal Audit teams to stay ahead of industry changes and align practices with evolving needs and norms.
  • Partner with Moody's central risk management functions to drive the alignment of enterprise risk initiatives within Sales and adoption of standard tools and frameworks for risk management.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to define and implement risk-oriented business policies for Sales.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to external and internal audit controls, where applicable.
  • Drive initiatives to comply with data protection regulations, including GDPR, ensuring regulations are consistently understood and followed across the Sales team.
  • Coordinate the rollout of controls, collaborating with leaders and stakeholders to implement regular reporting and control attestation mechanisms.

Security and Stability:

  • Set clear expectations for risk monitoring and resilience concerning all processes and technologies used within Sales operations.
  • Partner with Corporate IT to align enterprise and department-specific objectives and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of products and services offered by the Sales department.
  • Establish and maintain effective incident response mechanisms, including stakeholder identification and escalation planning, in alignment with industry best practices.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between Sales and other corporate departments to address risk, security, and compliance challenges proactively.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the risk and compliance space by identifying and addressing emerging threats and opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement in risk management practices across the Sales department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Compliance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CRISC, CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in risk management, compliance, or a similar role, preferably within a sales or customer-facing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations such as SOC, GDPR, and other industry standards.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in risk monitoring tools and a strong understanding of incident response processes.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$150,000 - [[$225,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
