The Asset Management Quant Research Engineering team is looking for a Director of Quantitative Development who wishes to take on the challenge of building an elite quant research platform. We are looking for individuals who bring expertise in quant data orchestration and quant research infrastructure from premier competitor firms. This role is primarily focused on hands-on development and delivery, which requires a combination of both strong technical and influencing skills, as well as participation in architecture, design, analysis, and evangelizing activities.

Primary Location: Boston, MA

Additional Locations; Merrimack, NH; Raleigh, NC

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in either Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field.

* 5+ years of software engineering experience, including in senior and/or team leadership roles, at peer firms using agile methods and modern SDLC processes to deliver quality technological solutions in a transparent, reliable way.

* Exposure to quant research processes, methodologies, and tools

* Expertise in data infrastructure in support of quant research processes, including multi-tiered caching across different database technologies and storage substrates.

* Deep experience with data orchestration systems, with a track record of designing and delivering systems that will efficiently implement code to refresh datasets daily. Exposure to automated data dependency analysis.

* A proven track record of architecting complex systems to work efficiently and reliably in critical applications. Ability to recognize business risk and surface it to key decision-makers.

* A servant leader who is focused on promoting a team culture of accountability and continuous improvement and removing drag forces to enable team success.

The Value You Deliver

* Deliver a data orchestration solution to support quant research use cases, allowing researchers to save and restore intermediate outputs of their research quickly, efficiently, and at scale.

* Design and build a cloud-based system which updates orchestrated data following a schedule, performing dependency analysis to avoid duplicate work.

* Work with quant researchers to understand their needs and shape the solution to better suit them, and to support them as they evaluate prototypes.

* Partner with engineers supporting the functional programming framework used by researchers which will read and write from your data orchestration components, shaping the overall solution architecture.

* Provide leadership on software quality and design best practices, working with peers and earlier-career engineers to ensure the quality and scalability of the entire solution.
