Job Description

Provides vision, leadership, oversight, mentoring and coaching of senior GTO staff in producing GTO deliverables. Recommends refinement/adaptations to deliverables that are fit for purposes as changing business needs may require. Serves as process owner for assigned processes and is responsible for initiating, collaborating, and delivering continuous improvement of assigned cross functional processes deliverables within GCTO as well as GTO. (40%)

Manages resources to ensure business needs are appropriately supported and workload is balanced. Recruits, hires, manages, mentors, and provides feedback and development opportunities for direct reports, ensuring skill growth and compliance to relevant policy and procedures. (15%)

Provides oversight to assigned GTO Indications or Therapeutic Area(s) for program planning activities, feasibility assessment and recruitment and retention support. Collaborates closely with CSSM Senior Program Leads, Section Heads, or TA Leads, GPAM CST leads in aligning teams with senior management. (20%)

Manages and adheres to departmental budget as it relates to resources assigned within function/TA. Collaborates to establish performance metrics with GCTO Regional Operations Leads and his/her teams and monitors these metrics in an effort to continually enhance capabilities and improve overall quality of deliverables. (5%)

Represents GTO on several program-level operations teams, leading the development of feasibility input to programs, timeline projection and program-level Recruitment and Retention strategies. Oversees and develops senior GTO staff in execution of CST and CTT level contributions. (20%)

Education Minimum Requirement:

Bachelor or Master degree in medical/pharmaceutical/biological sciences with at least 12 years of career experience including 10 years' experience in the conduct of clinical trials and expertise in business process analytics and continuous improvement. Some people management experience is preferred, not required.

The key responsibilities the positions will help my team with include:

  • Superior business acumen

  • Shaping and implementing strategies to support downstream operational plans

  • Create business cases seeking financial award with oversight and implementation of strategies tied to business case

  • Financial oversight and forecasting around our Research & Development Division finance forecasting cycles

  • Strategic Protocol Analysis & Supplier Integrations

  • Support of activities under the GTO Pre-feasibility and Recruitment Centers of Excellence tying patient populations, IE criteria, Schedule of Assessments (SoA), and outcomes into a streamlined supplier strategy

  • Excellence in vendor management - oversight and tasks assigned for key suppliers

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to integrate successfully within teams with meaningful contribution

  • Departments R5 may interact with as part of role include: GSBP, DICT, eClinical, PDT Leaders, GPAM, our Research & Development Division Finance, Monitoring Excellence, CSP

  • Excellence in Data Story Telling related to ROI for supported initiatives

  • People management experience

  • Ability to lead teams effectively and independently
