Please review the following job description:

The Credit Delivery teams underwrite credit products to new and existing clients and actively manage the existing portfolio in order to meet client needs while also ensuring appropriate risk/return strategies. The group underwrites lead and non-lead opportunities that span from investment grade to sponsor-owned, leveraged transactions and executes amendments, refinancings and ancillary credit product approvals. Responsible for ongoing client dialogue, including product partner opportunity identification where appropriate. Actively manages portfolio risk through risk rating integrity, annual client reviews, watchlist management, and amendments/waivers, as well as executing compliance, audit and regulatory guidelines and reviews. The group will also be responsible for early identification of emerging credit problems and industry trends in order to initiate risk mitigation actions and ensure appropriate capital allocation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Strong partner to Coverage Bankers, Risk Managers and other Product Partners, effectively manages client interaction, maintains ongoing client dialogue and introduces Product Partners where appropriate.
2. Executes high quality underwritings, refinancings and amendments, including extensive due diligence, recommendations around structure, pricing and capital allocation, and application of credit policy in order to develop solutions that meet client needs while maintaining appropriate risk acceptance criteria.
3. Provides an independent, in-depth analysis of financial statements, valuation, projections including stress tests, industry and competitive dynamics, business plans and key risks and mitigants.
4. Manages a large portfolio of clients and owns the overall quality and on-time completion of all annual reviews, renewals, amendments/waivers, ancillary credit product approvals and quarterly risk ratings.
5. Maintains knowledge mastery of each client, the industry in which it operates and the competitive environment within that industry.
6. Produces recommendations around active portfolio management solutions in order to minimize credit losses, and effectively manages and presents watchlist clients.
7. Effectively negotiates and ensures that legal documentation related to credit events incorporates terms and conditions as approved in strict accordance with all elements reflected in credit package/closing memo. Effectively coordinates and communicates with internal/external counsel.

8. Directors will be assigned a larger portfolio with more complex names (lead clients, leveraged profiles, high-touch or sensitive relationships, more challenging sectors).
9. Actively involved in the recruiting, training, and mentoring of VPs, Associates and Analysts as well as the performance review process for analysts.
10. Must deliver solid credit analyses and risk rating recommendations, demonstrate a high level of critical thinking skills, maintain both attention to detail and an understanding of the big picture, and communicate effectively both internally and externally.

Required Qualifications

1. Undergraduate degree.
2. 8 years of experience in underwriting, portfolio management, and credit decision making for corporate and investment banking clients.
3. Subject Matter Expert level understanding of accounting, credit, structuring, underwriting and legal documentation.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
5. Licenses: Series 79; Series 63; SIE.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Expertise within a specific and relevant industry or geography.
2. Experience with leveraged finance and financial sponsors.
3. Undergraduate degree with coursework in accounting or finance preferred.
