HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
This role typically reports into the Sr Director, Quality Assurance and is based in our Skip Hop New York office. The team is hybrid, coming into the office 3 days a week.
40%: Regulatory Labeling, Warnings, and Restrictions
- Act as subject matter expert for product and packaging labeling requirements for all Skip Hop categories and countries.
- Advise Packaging Graphics and Product Development Teams of labeling requirements including wording, size and placement on product, package, and instruction sheet.
- Document and file finalized packaging, labels, etching and instructions for all TOP samples.
- Manage new labeling requirements for new and existing products (i.e.- UKCA, law label updates, new standards etc.
- Keep abreast of changes in requirements and advise cross-functional teams as needed.
- Managed customized labeling of products to meet requirements of specific countries.
- Proof-read all labels and packaging expeditiously.
- Manage testing applications for pretesting labels, packaging and instructions to confirm all regulatory information is accurate before final testing.
- Organize and build all labeling SOPs. Create rules/templates which Product Development and cross-functional departments can reference for repeated product types.
- Manage all stuffed article licenses per state:
- Register factories for new and annual stuffed article licenses per state.
- Manage global registrations, sampling and payments to keep registrations current.
- Manage all miscellaneous product labeling registrations and certificates (WERC, FSC, TSCA/CARB, Stuffed licenses, etc.)
40%: Provide Product Regulatory & Safety Documents for Customers & Distributers
- Create basic Certificates and Declarations of Conformity as needed. Provide Test Reports and Children’s Product Certificates as requested. Sign documents on behalf of Skip Hop to certify that products are safe and conform to regulatory test requirements.
- Create relevant documentation for Vendor sign-off (Prop65, REACH, CHCC, etc.)
- International Distributor regulatory library: organize and update all international test reports, declarations of conformity and other relevant technical file documents in the distributor library such that documents are easy to access by our international distributors.
- Provide ongoing support to distributors and retailers to negotiate and arrange custom testing beyond US and European standards.
- Manage retailer specific registrations as needed.
- Organize and maintain the SharePoint and Shared-drive libraries of all test results and Certificates as required by law. Be sure all test reports are clearly organized, labeled and easy to locate and provide for Skip Hop customers.
20%: Regulatory Compliance Standards and Administration
- Manage quality and compliance team invoices, coding and payments
- Submit payment request for all QA invoices and code each individual invoice in SAP.
- Review and understand government regulatory standards and customer compliance standards for all Skip Hop Product Categories
- Communicate with regulatory bodies and third-party labs to clarify requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with new or changing regulations and standards.
- Assist with the management of consumer complaint data tracking and reporting.
- Assist with product testing (regulatory and qualification testing) as needed.

Preferred skills and experience:
- 2+ years of experience
- Experience reading and applying government regulations to products (US & International)
- Experience in children’s products, toys and/or infant gear products a plus.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemistry, Regulatory Compliance or other related scientific field.
- Compensation for this position ranges from $67,000 - $75,000 a year based on experience
