This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Freewheel Data Engineering team is a key engineering team that powers several Data Driven products such as Audience, Identity & Measurement (AIM), TV Platform Reporting & Measurement and Beeswax platforms. Data Engineering team ingests, processes and organizes large volume of data from internal & external sources that enables data driven decisions. We use cutting edge Big Data technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake on AWS to power several real time and batch processing data platforms. We are responsible for maintaining the integrity of data across the board to ensure our customer facing products are free of anomalies and inaccuracies.

Role Description

Are you passionate about Data? Do you get excited by working on extremely complex Data challenges that involves large volume (Petabyte scale), strict SLAs and ever-changing business needs?

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

In your role, you will work on solving complex data challenges such as automating large scale Data Observability & Anomaly Detection, transforming large scale data from source systems to destination and automating complex Data Infrastructure on AWS.

Where can this student make an impact?

You will be working with extremely motivated and bright Data Engineers working in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role is measured by reducing the time it takes to roll out new transformations, reducing anomalies in source data as early as possible and reducing time it takes to make the data actionable for several Data Driven use cases.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research and test newer / better methods for Data Observabilities
  • Participate in Agile development methods collaborating with several Data Engineers
  • Document the design and plan according to the needs
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills

  • SQL
  • Python or Java or Scala
  • Pandas
  • Databases such as MySQL
  • Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Data Science

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Salary:

Base Pay: $40.00
