Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Oncology Translational Science department located at our Ridgefield facility. As an Intern/Co-Op, you will be deeply involved in assisting with the accomplishment of our goal of identifying patient selection biomarker for our cancer immunology portfolio programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the effort to develop a workflow for accurate processing of our multiplex immunofluorescence image data.
Benchmark test modern algorithms to better understand spatial organization and crosstalk of tumor and the microenvironment in response to our mono- and combinatory therapeutic strategies.
Apply aforementioned items towards our current Biomarker projects to gain more thorough biological insights/understanding on spatial mechanism of tumor progression and response/resistance to therapy.

Requirements

Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship.
Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
Major or minor in related field of internship, e.g., Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineer, Molecular Biology, etc.
Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of multi-dimensional 'Omics' data and modern approaches of data processing and integration
Excellent programming skill in scientific languages such as R or Python
Extensive experience applying ML techniques to large scale datasets
Problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and ability to think and tackle problems independently

Compensation: This position offers an hourly rate of $29.00 to $33.00/hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled.For an overview of our benefits please click here.
