A Brief Overview
The Clinical Research Data Specialist will perform data entry and quality assurance functions in support of the research conducted in the Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Works closely with clinical research teams and other special projects as identified. Also responsible for a portfolio of data entry projects, developing and maintaining operational manuals, and back up duties to research staff.

  • Participates in data QA processes as audits for ensuring highest quality data capture
  • Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process

  • Regulatory responsibilities, including but not limited to IRB and CHPS submissions and amendments
  • Maintaining protocol specific electronic systems, such as eIRB, eTRACK and Oncore
  • Conducts ongoing review of current policies and procedures to ensure information is up to date and accurate
  • Comply with Institutional policies, SOPs and guidelines
  • Must comply with federal, state, and sponsor policies
  • Clerical duties as assigned
  • Also may be responsible for any of the following:
  • Back up coverage for clinical studies including, participate in the informed consent process for study subjects, maintain study source documents, case report forms (paper and electronic data capture), sample collection
  • Must possess knowledge of IRB and human subject protection and must adhere to an IRB approved protocol

Education Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years relevant clinical research experience Required
  • At least three (3) years clinical research experience Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Requires effective writing and communication, ability to work as part of a team
