Job Summary
The University of Michigan and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will jointly invest $79 million to support and recruit 30 new faculty members to the Ann Arbor campus as part of a nationwide effort to enhance inclusion and equity across the biomedical and health sciences community.
The Program in Biophysics at the University of Michigan seeks exceptional applicants for the 2024 Michigan Program for Advancing Cultural Transformation (M-PACT) Program. The Unit is a broad, interdisciplinary program whose faculty apply the principles of physics, chemistry and theoretical modeling to explain the molecular and cellular structures specific to life.
As part of the College of Literature Science and the Arts (LSA), this hiring program aims to recruit faculty with a demonstrated and ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion via their scholarship, teaching, and/or service activities with research interests suitable for funding by the NIH. This call is part of a broader university effort to enhance inclusion and equity across the biomedical and health sciences community.

Required Qualifications*
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or terminal degree conferred by July 1, 2025 and must never have had a tenure-track faculty appointment.

Materials should include a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy and experience (including teaching evaluations and other evidence of teaching excellence), statement of current and future research plans, a diversity statement that demonstrates your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through scholarship/research, and/or teaching/mentoring, and/or service/engagement, writing samples, and three letters of reference. Applicants for LSA departments can write separate or combined DEI and service statements. If a combined statement is written, it must be uploaded for both the DEI and service statements.
