As an Associate Director MSAT Packaging, you will manage an MSAT packaging team which is responsible for the development and implementation of sterile primary packaging standards to be applied globally, development and qualification of all primary packaging from phase III to commercial, life-cycle management of the already qualified primary packaging.
The Associate Director, Packaging Operations, MSAT Drug Delivery & Aseptic Technology - is responsible to lead a team of packaging experts that are responsible for leading large primary packaging package development projects which impact multiple sites. This will include initiatives
from a variety of areas including NPI, packaging standard platforms, cost reduction. compliance, supply risk, and sustainability.

Oversee the packaging development and qualification activities to assure they are completed in accordance with QMS requirements and regulatory expectations.
Provide guidance on prioritization based on the impact of the project on the business.
Engage a range of stakeholders to gain insight and provide input into packaging platform strategy.
Monitor and support the team to achieve KPI’s related to Quality (deviations, Capa’s, training, document review/approval, etc.)
Participate in project governance structure to seek endorsement of proposals at the level appropriate for the scope of the initiative.
Technical Leadership of primary packaging to support the team with issue resolution within the supply chain across multiple sites globally to ensure security of supply.
Development of strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business (including procurement, quality, regulatory, and supply chain) to ensure appropriate engagement and input into qualification plans.
Provide technical input to the team to ensure appropriate risk-based decision making
Provide technical packaging input to drive resolution plans and appropriate escalation

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related Science field
5+ years of experience in packaging development
Previous experience managing a technical team.
Experience with consumer driven insights and translating into packaging innovations
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Master’s degree in engineering or related Science Field
Must have extensive experience in the sterile primary packaging field including container closure qualification and implementation.
Awareness of current regulatory expectations related to sterile primary packaging qualification
Proven track record for managing a virtual matrix team within a complex, multi-disciplinary technical organization, and working across organizational, territorial, and cultural boundaries.
Knowledge/Expertise of packaging materials, components, suppliers, equipment, legislation, and technologies with the ability to apply this knowledge to satisfy goals within Supply Chain.
Ability to react quickly and positively to rapidly changing environments and newly emerging information.
Demonstrated ability to manage and control multiple tasks simultaneously.
Understanding of the complexities of multi-site manufacture for GSK Products, internal and within External Supply
Superior listening skills, analytical ability to diagnose problems, resolve conflict, and develop practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and presentation; able to interact with and influence all levels of individuals across a variety of organizations (without a direct reporting relationship).
Provide a professional service that understands urgency, rapid response and follow-up.
Must be able to work in a matrix environment both within the Supply Chain and across R&D, and Commercial where applicable.
Individual must be able to exhort influence with peers across Divisions as well as up and down within GSK organizations in order to obtain desired outcomes.
Build confidence across all stakeholders in own ability to identify, evaluate and make change happen.
Understanding different perspectives and satisfying the needs and expectations of all stakeholders.
Build peer networks and manage relationships with our supplier base and be able to diagnosis and resolve problems that occur in the GSK network.
Develop strong relationships with Procurement groups and suppliers of packaging components
