WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Associate Director for Corporate and Foundation Relations (ADCFR) works within the corporate and foundation fundraising program, as part of the Florida Chapter's development team, to implement and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans primarily for corporate and foundation donors.

The is responsible for building a portfolio of qualified donors through managing existing relationships and developing new relationships. They understand and apply the principles of developing donor strategies. They will be responsible for direct asks to both global and local priorities to meet funding needs. The ADCFR provides opportunities for donors to receive recognition and increase future giving. They involve appropriate staff at the Florida Chapter, Southern Division, and Worldwide Office, keeping them apprised of interactions, issues or concerns, and direct questions as appropriate. They are capable of featuring the programs of the Conservancy in broad terms. They may be responsible for volunteer engagement within formal and/or informal networks. The ADCFR will be required to use the Conservancy's donor database and may participate in the development of proposals.

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a leader who's passionate about fundraising and business development to help convey TNC's mission to diverse groups. We're looking for a dynamic leader who is not only passionate about fundraising but also skilled in negotiating high-profile or sensitive agreements. As the Associate Director for Corporate and Foundation Relations, you will manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors, with responsibilities including 75+ visits and 10+ letters of intent or proposals annually. Annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000 or more. In addition to building and maintaining long-term relationship with funders, the ADCFR will also utilize strong grant management and writing skills. You will collaborate closely with conservation, finance, and other partners to holistically engage corporations. This role demands independent judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity, ensuring compliance with TNC policies and external requirements. The ADCFR will routinely travel (15% estimate) to meet funders and fulfil the duties of the position.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
  • Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $50,000 or more.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, preferably in a large non-profit.
  • Experience working with fundraising principles and practices.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in current trends in charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with corporate and foundation donors including discovery, cultivation, submitting proposals, and overseeing grants.
  • Understanding of conservation and environmental topics within the context of a corporation's approach to sustainability, philanthropy, and corporate practices.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience aligning written proposals, impact reports, and other materials with the donor's interests.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Ability to determine a prospect's interests, capacity and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and act appropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancy's work.
  • Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate philanthropic and partnership opportunities.
  • Ability to implement and manage fundraising plans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation, and recognition plans.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the charitable giving in the areas of corporate and foundation relations, capital campaigns, or major gifts.
  • Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy, and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex, high profile or sensitive agreements.

Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.


SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $96,000 - $114,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
