Location Designation:Hybrid - 3 days per week

NYL Investors LLC was formed in October 2013 as a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company with the primary responsibility for managing the fixed income and real estate assets of New York Life and our other strategic partners.
With over 300 professionals, the organization manages $309. 1 billion of assets under management as of January 31, 2024, through our three investment groups.

Role Overview:

As an Associate in Investment Services your primary responsibility will be to support the investment accounting system and associated applications within NYL Investors, LLC. You will reconcile the investment accounting system on a daily basis, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner by working with internal and external parties. To do this successfully, you should possess fundamental knowledge of the securities and equities, understand how principal and income payments are calculated, and be able to collaborate with business, operations, and technology stakeholders. A blend oftechnical and analytical skills is important for this position, together with a genuine interest in building a career in investment operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Identify, research and analyze cash reconciliation breaks between the Accounting System and Custodian in a timely and accurate manner
  • Communicate cash reconciliation exceptions and/or open projections to the custodians for resolution
  • Process Corporate Action events to the accounting system to ensure positions and accounting methodology is appropriate
  • Monitor aged items and follow up with appropriate teams to ensure Suspense and Due and Unpaid breaks are resolved timely and accurately
  • Promptly bring issues and problems to the attention of a manager
  • Maintain positive working relationships with manager, co-workers and custodians.
  • Participate in team projects to enhance process and workflow

What You'll Bring:

  • BS in Business Administration or Finance with up to 3 years of experience
  • Strong problem solving and systems skills; advanced skills in Excel is a plus
  • Detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and clientservice skills
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income securities is a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity and comfort with investment accounting, reporting and performance.
  • Knowledge of fixed income, equity, and derivatives.
  • Experience with SQL queries.
  • Experience with corporate actions.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$65,000-$75,000

Overtime eligible:Nonexempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
