Description

The Academic Relations Program Manager helps to drive the strategy & execution of Boehringer's US academic relations programs in partnership with the Talent Acquisition leaders.  The Program Manager will partner with internal HR and business stakeholders as well as external academic partners as required to deliver the full life cycle of existing programs. This individual manages the summer internship program, seasonal co-op program and assists with the administration of Boehringer's Management Rotation Program (MRP). In addition, the program manager will partner with our internal Talent Acquisition Leaders and Talent Advisors across Animal Health and Human Pharma, The Office of Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Engagement (plus DEI Councils) and HR & Communication teams relative to academic relations topics, project work and social media outreach.  Additionally, this role will continue to partner with the business to continually evaluate and select partner schools which are focused on building strong relationships externally as well as with our internal Ambassadors and Diplomats with our HBCU organizations. 

Duties & Responsibilities

- Co-develops and manages relationships with targeted academic institutions for internship, co-op and MRP talent inclusive of program marketing, attending campus events, and coordination with BI campus ambassadors and diplomats.  Assesses the external market on where Boehringer should make investments with specific organizations and monitor progress along the way.

- Drives execution of the post graduate Management Rotation Program (MRP)in collaboration with Talent Acquisition teams in Animal Health and Human Pharma and Group Functions. Attend on campus events such as interviews, career fairs and networking events.  Partners with program owner to develop and execute program strategy.

- Develops short and long term Academic Relations strategies in partnership with internal stakeholders. Manage execution of these strategies via our internal recruiting teams. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition leadership in the development of campus recruiting strategies within their respective client groups.

- Uses internal and external market data to evaluate program activity, effectiveness and to inform/improve strategy.  Provides recommendations to the business through an annual review with HR and the business stakeholders.  

- Supports the DEI team on various external award submissions and co-develops and executes DEI recruitment strategy within AR programming.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree preferably with a concentration in Human Resources. 
  • Minimum of five (5-7) years of Human Resources experience (generalist or center of excellence - Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, etc.) with a demonstrated knowledge of end - to - end recruitment experience.
  • Experience leading and or executing academic relations programs.
  • Excellent customer focus, interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.  
  • Comfort with ambiguity ,ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex problems and seek input as needed. Strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation, and social media.  
  • This role will require travel to our US sites, and colleges and university events throughout the US.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
