Job Summary:
The System VP of Children’s Physician Services provides strategic leadership to the Children’s service line at the system level in partnership with the system administrative lead as part of a dyad. The system service line leader will be responsible for: strategy development and local entity strategy support, service line growth planning, strategic coordination of MD hiring, program prioritization, technology assessment, opportunity development, coordination of system marketing efforts, market share data assessment and new market development, assessment of local entity performance against annual goals. This role will focus on ensuring exceptional administrative efficiency, financial performance, regulatory compliance, patient-centered processes, and continuous quality improvement across the Children’s care continuum. This leader ensures strict adherence to established policies and procedures, ensuring the entity’s conduct aligns with the highest standards dictated by applicable laws, regulations, sound business practices, and our Code of Conduct.
Description of Job Duties:
Children’s Physician Services
- Develop a long-term vision for the Children’s program that aligns the organization's goals and objectives. Collaborate with entity clinical and operational leaders to develop this vision and anticipate and respond to evolving trends in Children’s care.
- Support local entities in aspects of Children’s care delivery across the service line, including (but not limited to) seamless patient flow, care models, resource utilization, and performance goal achievement.
- Develop the Children’s program's system budget, analyze financial performance, identify cost-saving efficiencies, and implement revenue growth strategies.
- Leverage data analytics to track key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions to optimize operational efficiency, expand market share, and improve clinical outcomes.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding Children’s services, including new service lines, clinical research initiatives, community partnerships, and strategic affiliations.
- Champion the adoption of innovative technologies and processes to streamline operations, enhance patient experience, and improve data management within the Children’s program.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and patient-centered care.
- Oversee the physician operations of the Children’s service line, ensuring efficient and high-quality patient care delivery.
- Develop and implement clinical programs and protocols for various Children’s diseases and procedures, staying current with best practices and innovative treatment approaches.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to Children’s care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements for Children’s services.
- Build strong relationships with our Children’s physicians, serving as trusted advisors and advocating for their needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent in Children’s.
- Foster a collaborative and collegial work environment within the Children’s department.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for our Children’s physicians.
- Collaborate with the revenue cycle team to optimize reimbursement for Children’s services.

Qualifications
Education:
- MD with board certification in a relevant Children’s specialty.
Experience:
- Requires 12 years of progressively responsible experience, including 10 years of management experience with a focus on Children’s.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of Children’s principles, treatment modalities, and best practices.
- Understanding of the complexities of healthcare delivery systems, reimbursement models, and regulatory environment impacting Children’s care.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve clinical and operational goals for the Children’s service line.
- Communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, patients, administrators, and boards.
- Making sound decisions based on clinical expertise, data analysis, and business acumen.
- Developing innovative approaches to improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of Children’s services.
