We are currently seeking a Project Architect to join our Living team.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction documents
- Apply sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fields
- Act independently regarding architectural methods and complexities
- Use advanced techniques and modify/extend theories, precepts, and practices
- Assist with budget management
- Prepare design presentation materials
- Work directly with client and/or user group to develop schematic design concepts and programming studies
- Observe architectural features of structures in the field
- Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects
- Write specifications as assigned
- Conduct code research and analysis and review with various agencies for approval
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors and/or clients.
- Assume Project Manager role as necessary
- Prepare project proposals, design team budget, schedule, and workforce projections
- Supervise and provide guidance regarding overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
- Ensure that the project meets environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standards
- Manage and nurture the client relationship
- Supervise design team members as necessary
- Perform construction administration to include facilitation of project communications, maintenance of project records, review and certification of amounts due to contractors, and preparation of change orders
- Provide architectural production support as required
- Produce work involving a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs
- Produce construction documents, revisions, and addendums
Requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited programs
- Registered as a licensed architect
- Ability to provide business development for firm within practice expertise area
- 6-8 years combined experience as a design professional and/or architect
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Revit
- Firm grasp of building technology fundamentals
- Thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends
- Excellent time management, organizational and written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree of Architecture
- Experience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project Analyzer
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam PDF Revu
- Additional relevant certifications indicating additional expertise such as for construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.
- Experience writing and editing specifications Write and edit specifications as assigned
