What You'll Do

As a Manager - BCG Vantage in a Client Focus role within BCG's Aerospace and Defense Practice Area, you will work in a growing global team, delivering value to clients via individual expertise and/or institutionalized BCG Vantage assets (products, tools, data, workshops, frameworks, surveys, domain-specific data and related expertise, etc.). You will contribute to proposals and cases through thought partnership in your area of expertise, deliver original analyses and insights helping drive strong impact with clients. While contributing to client cases, workshops and proposals, occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements, and design / develop solutions.

You will support commercialization efforts for the topic/sector working, in conjunction with business leaders, providing insights & advice for proposals and client workshops. This work will involve staffing to cases, supporting the full range of cases of the Boston Consulting Group. Additionally, as an Aerospace and Defense manager, you will lead development of intellectual property & assets for the business and mentor and guide junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise.

We are especially looking for individuals who have experience supporting projects on the following topics:

Aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (military and / or civilian)
Shipbuilding (construction and maintenance)
Domestic and international defense
The space economy

Across one (or more) of these topics, we are looking for an individual with (1) deep market understanding (commercial structures, an understanding of landscape and players), (2) demonstrated ability to navigate and analyze industry / company data relevant to each market, and (3) experience working in client-facing / industry roles related to these topics.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Solving complex client problems through relevant analytical approaches and customized solutions especially as it relates to maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aerospace and defense platforms
Engaging senior stakeholders and client team members, delivering targeted communication based on stakeholder settings
Managing projects with ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating business sense and adaptability
Training, coaching, and mentoring junior team members
Working in an ever changing and complex environment, and comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a fast-paced environment

What You'll Bring

3+ years consulting experience in relevant aerospace and defenserequired, candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred
In lieu of consulting experience, 4+ years minimum industry experience required; 6-10+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
- Strategy / business development / government relations at an aerospace and defense OEM
- Work as a Congressional staffer (either in a member's office or in a Congressional committee)
- Research for an aerospace and defense lobbying organization
- Think tank experience
Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Fluency in English; other languages requested in certain locations
Extensive experience working and / or studying at least one of the following topic areas, with a deep market understanding of:
- Commercial aviation
- Commercial aviation MRO
- Military aviation MRO
- Shipbuilding and ship maintenance
- Global defense analysis
- Defense technology
- The space market, both commercial and military
US citizenship required

- Combines deep domain insights with our know-how and proprietary assets to address targeted challenges directly with clients and project teams; co-creates insights on industry trends and functional topics, proprietary data and tools, and teams to codify IP that all enables BCG to deliver excellent business value with its clients
Research (Practice Topic and Sector-Aligned Research and Insights)
- Delivers actionable research and insights tailored to the client project's needs; works with qualitative and quantitative data, conducts research and provides synthesized results from sources including commercial data, public and open source, company and industry research, macro-economic, commodities and trade data

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG's Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.

We expect total annualized compensation for Washington DC based employees to be approximately the following:

Base salary between $137,300 - $142,500 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-26%
5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period
