Job Description:

Apex is seeking a Downstream Purification Scientist to join a growing company near the Plymouth Meeting, PA area.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize downstream purification processes for monoclonal antibodies.
• Operate and maintain AKTA chromatography systems and Tecan liquid handling systems.
• Perform filtration techniques and other downstream processing methods.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement new systems and processes in a developing lab environment.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems independently, creating solutions for missing steps in processes.
• Ensure all work aligns with non-GMP lab standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, etc.); Master’s degree is a plus.
• 2-3 years of laboratory experience, preferably in downstream purification and chromatography.
• Proficiency with AKTA systems; experience with Tecan systems is advantageous.
• Additional skills in ELISA, HPLC, and PCR are beneficial but not required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.

• Experience in a development-focused role rather than quality control.
• Familiarity with non-GMP lab environments, Process laboratory.
