Job Description – Director of Programs
Status: Full time, Exempt
Reports to: President and CEO
Pay Range: $65,000- $75,000
Summary:
The Director of Programs is a detail-oriented leader and collaborator with a passion for advancing public education in Tulsa. This individual manages a diverse portfolio of programs, ensures accountability for outcomes, and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Programs excels in organization, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Collaborates with Tulsa Public Schools staff, community partners, and Foundation staff to grow the impact of programs. This position is based in Tulsa.
Organization Background:
The Foundation for Tulsa Schools was founded in 2001 through a merger of the Tulsa Education Fund and the Tulsa Public Schools Foundation. Our purpose is to support our students, educators, and schools within the district of Tulsa Public Schools.
Job Summary:
Programs
- Serve as the primary liaison for Tulsa Public Schools grants and programs.
- Manages all Foundation programs including Grants for Great Ideas, Explore Oklahoma, Educator Supply Days, Book Series, etc.
- Oversee the Fine Art Programs and investments.
- Manage full-time employee - Fine Arts Coordinator
- Administer endowment disbursements.
- Monitor all grant program outcomes and expenditures.
- Develop reports for donors showcasing impact and outcomes.
Partners In Education
- Act as liaison between school leaders and community partners/school sponsors.
- Cultivate, grow, and sustain strong partnerships with existing partners.
- Plan and execute events to enhance collaboration and visibility.
Accounting and Finance
- Manage program-related expenses in QuickBooks, including input, coding, and reconciliation.
- Review and process disbursement requests and oversee distribution logistics.
- Handle monthly financial reconciliations for program expenses.
Other
- Serve as staff support for Board committees and other Foundation initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and seven to ten years of experience in program management or nonprofit leadership.
- Strong commitment to public education and the mission of the Foundation for Tulsa Schools.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and track measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with financial management and QuickBooks preferred.
- Experience with working with Tulsa Public Schools preferred.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
