Creating an emotional link between the products we make and our customers is the work of our H-E-B Own Brand Team. Own Brand Managers are true brand champions and are responsible for development and growth of our brands across their respective business areas.As an Associate Product Development Manager (PDM), you'll fill a 12- to 24-month position designed for intensive growth and development for someone with no experience in consumer packaged goods product development management and retailer functions. Training with a PDM, you'll learn about the complex nutrition requirements, ingredients, and distinctive items that go into developing products that meet and exceed customer expectations.Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. 'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... skills collaborate cross-functionally?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... ability to apply problem-solving?PASSION FOR RESULTS... drive to learn product development the H-E-B way?We are looking for:- a related degree; no experience required- creative aptitude; a passion for working with food and non-food productsWhat is the work?Management:- Learns / participates in all product development and maintenance activities related to specific categories assigned with Manager & Product Development Manager (PDM) trainers- Learns / participates in processes to understand market trends, product development practices, product evaluations, specification documentation, and ingredient and nutrition disciplines of assigned categories in conjunction with PDM trainer and Manager- Learns / participates in decision-making on competitive analysis and evaluations, project planning, product development, analytical testing, manufacturing, and related maintenance in conjunction with PDM trainer and Manager- Supports product development activity as needed- Works collaboratively with QA, Procurement, CIC, OBMs, Regulatory, Self-Manufacturing, Global Sourcing, Culinary / R&D Chefs, suppliers, etc.- Works with PDMs and teams to ensure products are successfully developed to meet quality, attribute, and financial goals and objectives- Cross-trains in Stores and Self-Manufacturing for professional development and knowledge building- Participates in / coordinates special projects as assigned- Performs Product Development Assistant (PDA) project duties; coordinates / manages logistics for product evaluations (sample preparation, sample procurement, documentation, set up, facilitation, cleanup)- May perform PDA duties in support of other PDMsWhat is your background?- A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience- 2+ years of industry experienceDo you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Assoc PDM?- Working knowledge of consumer trends, how to identify / define key product quality and sensory attributes, product development, and production and process management- Strong communication and presentation skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Negotiating and influencing skills- Computer skills, including MS Office- Ability to manage multiple priorities / deadlines, and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail- Ability to communicate at all levels of the company- Ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams- Ability to solve problems within / across departments; ability to navigate through the organization- Ability to work complex issues with senior colleagues- Ability to provide proactive solutions with limited direction and input- Ability to collaborate and influence others' activities for efficiency- Ability to demonstrate initiative and willingness to take risksCan you...- Function in a fast -paced, retail, office environment- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays02-2023
